Simone Dietrich is Associate Professor in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Professor Dietrich studies development cooperation and finance and the role of international organizations in world politics. Her book, States, Markets, and Foreign Aid, appeared with Cambridge University Press in 2021. Her current research project examines the role of national development finance institutions of traditional democratic donors in filling the increasing financing gap in the Global South. She is a former senior fellow (2023-2024) and postdoctoral research fellow  (2011-2012) at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University.
