This conference brought together contributors to the forthcoming volume The State of the European Union Volume 8 (Oxford University Press, May 2007), which analyzes the evolution of European integration over the past five decades in historical institutionalist perspective on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.
