Alasdair Young (Georgia Tech)
Alasdair Young is a Professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology. There he co-directs the Center for European and Transatlantic Studies, a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence. He is a co-editor of JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies and is past chair of the European Union Studies Association (2015 to 2017). He has written extensively on the interaction of trade and regulatory policies, with particular reference to the European Union and transatlantic relations. His monographs included The New Politics of Trade: Lessons from TTIP (Agenda Publishing, 2017) and Parochial Global Europe: 21st Century Trade Politics (Oxford University Press, 2014). Before joining Georgia Tech, he held teaching and research posts at the University of Glasgow, the European University Institute and the University of Sussex. He has performed consultancy work for the American and British governments and the European Commission.
