Tamara Pavasovic Trost is currently a Fung Global Fellow at PIIRS. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Harvard University and a M.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University. She has previously worked at the Centre for Southeast European Studies at the University of Graz, and holds a permanent position at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include nationalism and ethnic identity broadly, with a geographical focus on the Western Balkans, and qualitative methods. She is working on several projects, including the interplay between class and ethnic identity, sports nationalism and symbolic nation-building, the influence of institutions on collective memory and everyday identity, and Europeanization and LGBT issues, with a geographical focus on the Western Balkans.
